A LIFE IN THE DAY OF TEENAGER
|
At roughly 7 a.m. my radio alarm buzzes. It blasts me into the morning. I angrily wonder how it can be already the new day as I've just gone to bed. Indeed, seven or eight hours have passed since that, but nevertheless I stay in bed for a while deciding whether to get up and repeat my homework or enjoy some minutes of morning luxury in bed. In most cases I honestly try to get up, but it often doesn't work. I'm being woken up by my mum ten minutes before eight, just before it's high time to go to school.
My every-day life is quite busy. The greatest role in it plays my school. Even when I am not at school, my homework makes me remember about it. In general, I usually enjoy school, mainly because of the number of friends I have there. Some lessons are really interesting too, but the homework often drives me out of patience.
After school I either have basketball practice or go out skating rollers (unfortunately, that is possible in autumn and spring only). In winter my favorite entertainment is computer. I physically can't start doing my homework immediately after school. This explains why I never begin doing it before half to seven - only very rarely I manage to finish my lessons before nine, when my favorite TV programmes start. After turning my T.V. set off at about 11 p.m., I really can't, though willing greatly, do anything else, but go to bed. At half to 12, deciding to get up early and do the rest of my homework, I get asleep peacefully. It usually doesn't take a lot of time before I get asleep, especially when I don't have any problems with my school and so forth to think over. Sometimes I worry about my marks, or some misunderstanding in my family, but it really is not very often. I enjoy getting asleep accompanied by the music of my radio set. I really hope that someone will come and turn it off when I'm asleep.
My favourite days of the week are Saturday and Sunday, saying nothing about my holidays. I have a real lie-in then as I get up just when I want. I enjoy my life, doing mostly what I prefer until Monday comes.
I don't have any particular hobbies, but enjoy going in for sports. I really want a career, and a good one, but still wonder in what kind of activity. My parents often ask me if I've already made up my mind. I'm finishing the 9th form now and so it starts becoming an important question. Nevertheless, now I can concentrate on nothing else but getting good exam results. |
