The launch of the Navitimer B01 Chronograph 43 Aston Martin F1 Team Edition today marks Breitling's return to the F1 circuit. Although Breitling has never been a household name in top-level motorsport, legendary F1 drivers including Jim Clark and Graham Hill wore Breitling Navitimer watches in the 1960s. In the 1990s, Breitling also released a Chronomat "Renault F1 Team" watch. The 2026-2027 F1 season will usher in a new chapter.
This limited edition of 1959 pieces, the Navitimer B01 Chronograph 43 Aston Martin Formula One Team watch, is more closely associated with the era of Clark and Hill than with Stroll and Alonso. After all, the history of the Navitimer dates back to 1952. Its original design was as a cockpit instrument worn on the wrist by pilots. The circular slide rule of this chronograph helped pilots calculate speed, time intervals, and fuel consumption. Hill and Clark, both amateur pilots, also used these functions on the track.
Navitimer's Team Colors
As you might expect, the Navitimer B01 Chronograph 43 Aston Martin Formula 1 Team Special Edition watch features a team-exclusive color scheme. Specifically, it's accented with Aston Martin Racing Green and Limestone, both colors derived from the Aston Martin Aramco team's livery. For the first time, the classic Navitimer series (excluding the Navitimer Aerospace and Super  features a lightweight titanium case. Its dimensions are consistent with the production Navitimer series, with a 43mm case, 49.07mm lug spacing, and a thickness of 13.69mm. As always, it is water-resistant to 30 meters. Complementing the lightweight case is a carbon fiber dial, a material most commonly used in F1 racing. To ensure legibility in low-light conditions (such as the Singapore Night Grand Prix), the hands and dial are coated with a generous amount of luminescent material.

Beneath the dial lies the in-house Caliber 01, a COSC-certified chronometer with a 70-hour power reserve. Through the sapphire crystal case back, the distinctive matte black rotor can be seen oscillating. The rotor is crafted from tungsten and coated with a highly durable PVD layer.
