WHO IS A SUPERFAN
|
A person who can give up anything and everything for seeing his star, who is prepared to follow him to the end of the Earth is a superfan.
There may be different fans: of sport, pop and rock music, opera, music, ballet and some others. There are many activities, and the star of each activity has his fans.
Superfans are not common with other people. They are interested in one thing - their star, their love to the star and their attempts to see him, to hear him. Their interest consumes every second of their lives and they wouldn't be the same person without it. They need dedication and determination. Many people think they are just a little crazy.
A superfan can't live without seeing the star. So he goes to every concert of him. A fan can hitchhike many kilometers, buy expensive tickets only to catch a glimpse of the great man. Besides fans buy different CD's and tapes of their idol to listen to him every day at home. They put posters on the walls. They read books and magazines, watch T.V. programs about their star. Fans even try to find the place of birth of their star, his telephone number. They are happy to take everything, even things not worth keeping in ordinary life, for example the remains of an apple, if the star ate or touched it.
Certainly, to get to a concert, to see the star in real life is the best thing for fans. There, at the concert, they become frenetic. They are so happy, so overwhelmed, that they can't say a word. The fans's faces betray their emotions: happiness, nervousness and love. Some fans are near to tears. Many of them clutch carefully packaged roses and teddy bears hoping to get the opportunity to present them to their star personally. During the concert they become delirious or even go completely mad. At last the concert is over, but fans already want to get to another one, to see their idol again.
I don't think superfans are crazy. They simply have another style of life. Besides they make stars feel themselves needed. But as for me I dislike fanatics of any kind. If your desires, how very important and urgent they may seem to you, interfere with other people lives, it is not decent. |
